FUM-Physio
Physiotherapy helps with increase in muscle power, mostly for athletes, or rehabilitation of patients. Modern physiotherapy upgrades conventional protocols in order to increase their capabilities and precision by integrating robotic technology into the treatment process. FUM-Physio is a knee rehabilitation and evaluation robot which can perform all conventional, manually-performed tasks and then some. It includes the passive, isometric, isotonic and isokinetic (ECC-CON, ECC-ECC, CON-ECC, CON-CON) algorithms rivaling its global counterparts in this respect. The in-demand isokinetic algorithm can only be performed by physiotherapy robotic devices, which demonstrates the significance of treatment modernization.
By providing the option of gaming therapy, FUM-Physio not only facilitates the process of rehabilitation for child patients, but also helps rehabilitate adult patients, including injured athletes, in a more effective way. This robot is also designed to simulate the movement in water; therefore, offering an exciting option for users.
Other than doctors and physiotherapists, FUM Physio also appeals to gym owners and athletes who benefit from robots’ additional options and scientific precision for the experience of more professional performance enhancement physiotherapy. One such advantage is the possibility for EMG testing, which equips operators with the bio feedback necessary for the assessment of muscle activities in a scientific and reliable way. Currently, FUM Physio is only functional for knee joint physiotherapy, but it is expected to include physiotherapy for other joints as well. Furthermore, our researchers are determined to expand the capabilities of FUM-Physio to include virtual reality, and closed chain algorithms to name a few.
