FUM-Motion Analyzer

Recently human motion capture is widely used in various fields including animation, medicine and sports. Specifically in medicine and rehabilitation, human motion data can be used to improve the treatment process of patients with movement disabilities. Analysis of the movement of both healthy individuals and patients is an important research area in the design and control of wearable rehabilitative robots. FUM CARE is thus engaged with research on various methods for human motion capture as a complementary field for developing exoskeletons. Medical doctors and physiotherapists also benefit from motion capture in the diagnosis and treatment of their patients with movement disorders. It is especially useful in orthopedics as this technology can be used to produce an image of musculoskeletal dysfunction, subsequently, helping to decide the most appropriate treatment method for each individual. This technology can provide data such as joint angle, axis symmetry, acceleration, and joint tension which are then compared with their corresponding standard values in order to detect orthopedic disorders.


FUM-Motion Analyzer is studied in two directions:

1. With marker:


In this method, we extract motion data using installed markers on the human body as well as stereo image processing. This data includes 3D positions of 14 marks on the body.











2. Without marker:


In this method, we extract motion data using artificial deep neural networks. There is no need to install markers on the human body since motion data is analyzed online.
